Social Media Conference at LITE

June 20, 2011, LAFAYETTE, La. - Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise (LITE) will be the first stop for the "Destructo Tour," a 3-city social media conference and tour across South Louisiana, on June 28, 2011. Other cities include Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

The purpose of this tour, which is being organized by NXT Media, is to raise awareness of the use of social media for businesses of all kinds, dispel myths and show how social media can be fun and effective for business.

"The Destructo Tour" will feature a panel of speakers. The headline speaker will be Amber Osborne, a.k.a "Miss Destructo." Osborne is a social media superstar from Tampa, Fla., and along with other panelists, will discuss a multitude of topics to include why Louisiana businesses should use social media.

Additional panelists include, Victor Canada, social media strategist and developer of the Social Media Certificate Program for LSU's Professional Development Department; Jay Ducote, writer and author of the website Bite and Booze; and Orhan McMillan, founder and managing partner of dezinsInteractive, a web development and design agency.

All ticket Sales will benefit local, community based non-profit organizations in each city. These non-profits will be invited to attend the conference to learn how to use social media tools to help accomplish their goals.
