SMPSO Daily Arrests Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 120 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Michael Hickson, 21, 7212 Hwy. 182 Apt #6 Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 22, 2013 at 10:42 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of attempted unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling and simple criminal damage to property. A deputy received information that Hickson was being held by the Morgan City Police Department on unrelated charges. Hickson remains incarcerated at the Morgan City Police Department Jail.

Demarcus Tremaine Skipper, 18, 1605 Hickory Street Patterson, LA was arrested on March 22, 2013 at 11:33 am at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Morgan City on a warrant for misdemeanor carnal knowledge of a juvenile. On March 20, 2013 the SMPSO received a complaint of a rape of a juvenile female. During the course of the investigation detectives learned that Skipper had sexual intercourse with a 14 year old female. Skipper was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1,500 bond.

Christopher Paul Trahan, 18, 133 Judith Street Chauvin, LA was arrested on March 22, 2013 at 1:33 pm for theft of goods.

Kevin Michael Blane Gordon, 19, 296 W. 133rd Street Cut Off, LA was arrested on March 22, 2013 at 1:33 pm for theft of goods.

A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at Walmart in Bayou Vista, LA. Upon arrival the deputy learned from store security that Trahan and Gordon were observed concealing items and leaving the store without paying for the merchandise. Trahan and Gordon were released on a summonses to appear in court on June 12, 2013.

Mark Anthony Starks, 37, 1613 Barrow Street Amelia, LA was arrested on March 22, 2013 at 2:58 pm on a warrant for theft. A deputy located Starks at his residence on the warrant. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Starks was released on a $1,000 bond.

Renaldo Castro, 29, 111 Cajun Way Amelia, LA wasa rrested on March 22, 2013 at 7:36 pm for possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids), possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, and misuse of toxic vapors. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area responded to a complaint of illegal drug activity at America's Best Value Hotel in Amelia. The deputy made contact with Castro who gave consent to search his room. In the tank of the toilet the deputy located a bag of synthetic cannabinoids and items of drug paraphernalia. Castro was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $5,500 bond.

Shelly Guillot Lee, 33, 518 Whitworth Drive Berwick, LA was arrested on March 22, 2013 at 8:08 pm for disturbing the peace by alarming the public. A deputy working detail at the Bayou Vista skate park observed a female in the parking lot throwing things to the ground. One of the items she threw was a piece of glass which shattered on the cement. The deputy made contact with the female, identified as Lee. Lee was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. She was released on a $250 bond. The glass was cleaned up from the parking lot.

Grant Lagarde, 27, 239 Chitimacha Loop, Charenton, LA was arrested on March 22, 2013 for driving while intoxicated, improper lane usage, open container, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a vehicle on Highway 90 cross the centerline and nearly strike another vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was identified as Lagarde. Upon making contact with Lagarde the deputy detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from his breath and person. Lagarde performed poorly on the field sobriety test. He later refused to submit to a breath test. Lagarde was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $7,500 bond.

Anthony Frederick, 29, 124 Parrot Court Gray, LA was arrested on March 23, 2013 at 4:16 am for disturbing the peace and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a complaint of a suspicious person on Lake Palourde Road. Upon arrival the deputy made contact with a subject sitting in a vehicle identified as Frederick. The deputy detected the strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his person. While speaking with Frederick, he began to become agitated and began cursing at the deputy. Frederick was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1,250 bond.

Charles Norman, Jr., 29, 16100 Subladner Road Gulf Port, MS was arrested on March 23, 2013 at 11:31 am on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. He was released on a summons to appear in court on June 12, 2013.

Samuel Robert Titterington, 27, 218 Clark Street Franklin, LA was arrested on March 24, 2013 at 12:39 am for criminal damage to property over $1,000. Deputies patrolling Hwy. 87 were flagged down by a land owner who stated that a vehicle was cutting donuts on his property. The deputies located the suspect vehicle and identified the driver as Titterington. Following and investigation, he was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $1,500 bond.

Floyd Ruffin, 27, 8102 Sweeta Street Cypress, TX was arrested on March 24, 2013 at 3:24 am for aggravated battery. A deputy was flagged down on Lake Palourde Road by a female subject who stated that several males were chasing another male. The deputy located the males and during the course of the investigation determined that Ruffin threw a beer bottle at a subject before leaving T's Lounge. Ruffin was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $2,500 bond.

Barry Ewing, 68, 1219 Hwy. 319 Cypremort Point, LA was arrested on March 24, 2013 at 3:23 am for simple battery. A deputy responded to a complaint of a battery at a residence on Hwy. 319. During the course of the investigation the deputy learned that Ewing and a female were arguing when Ewing pushed the female victim. Ewing was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $500 bond.

Ashley Derouen, 21, 1025 Langlinais Road Lot #6 Youngsville, LA was arrested on March 24, 2013 at 3:24 am for aggravated assault.

Raymon Jones, 24, 526 Pesson Street Jeanerette, LA was arrested on March 24, 2013 at 3:24 am for 2 counts simple battery.

A deputy responded to a located on Hwy. 182 in Sorrell, LA in reference to a complaint of a battery. Upon arrival the deputy observed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy identified the driver as Derouen and the passenger as Jones. Upon further investigation at the location of the complaint, the deputy learned that Jones had struck a female victim and a male victim in the head and that Derouen had made threats with a knife. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Derouen was released on a $1,000 bond. Jones was released on a $1,000 bond.

Jina P. Mingo, 47, 409 Bowman Street Morgan City, LA was arrested on March 24, 2013 at 10:07 am on warrants for issuing worthless checks and on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of conspiracy to commit theft over $500 and theft under $300. A deputy located Mingo at her residence on the warrants. She was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Jason Jermaine Matthews, 31, 178 Friendship Alley Amelia, LA was arrested on March 24, 2013 at 7:09 pm for improper lane use, aggravated flight from an officer, stop sign violation, reckless operation of a vehicle, flight from an officer, and no driver's license. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver on Highway 182 in Amelia. While responding to the initial complaint, the deputy received additional information identifying the suspect vehicle. The deputy activated lights and sirens to stop the vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop continuing through traffic. At one point the vehicle passed another vehicle nearly colliding with oncoming traffic.The vehicle continued to travel on Friendship Alley at a high rate of speed. When the vehicle came to a stop the driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot through several yards and into a residence where he hid in a bathroom. The subject was identified as Matthews. Following an investigation, Matthews was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
