Lafayette District Attorney Mike Harson will decide whether to press charges against a business owner accused of arming himself with Samurai knives and posting erratic Facebook messages inside his business. Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Deputies were called to Smoothie World at 2800 Verot School Rd. on Jan. 31 after employees reported Tai Nguyen was acting erratic and was armed with knives. It took deputies 45 minutes to get Nguyen out of the building. Nguyen agreed to leave, "but as deputies approached him he became combative and resisted the deputies," Judice said. Nguyen received minor injuries. No one else was injured.
Sheriff's investigators turned over their investigation to the district attorney for review.
