BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Ewell Smith has tendered his resignation as executive director of the Louisiana Seafood Promotion and Marketing Board.
Smith's resignation is effective Friday.
According to a news release, Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne accepted Smith's resignation Thursday and asked board chairman, Chef John Folse, and the board to move quickly so that he could fill the vacancy in a timely manner.
State law requires the board to submit a list of nominees for the position to the lieutenant governor who will make the selection.
