SMILE's New Iberia Head Start reopening after mold remediation

SMILE's New Iberia Head Start/Early Head Start Center will reopen Monday. The center closed on October 25 after mold was detected in one of the buildings. Since then, it has been treated and the state Department of Health and Hospitals and the State Licensing Bureau has cleared the school to reopen. "We really thank the community -- the staff, parents and children -- for being so committed and supportive during the process," Interim Executive Director Brenda Foulcard said.
"Plans are under way to have the staff and children back at the center on Monday," Assistant Head Start/Early Head Start Director Mary Russell Cobb said.
