On Saturday, October 26th, Los Angeles based Machine Project, a group of artists and performers will present a workshop titled Mind Reading for the Left and Right Brain at the Hilliard University Art Museum. This is an all-day event from 10am to 5 pm. The workshop is free and open to anyone over the age of 18. Bring a bag lunch and your curiosity. Registration is required as there is a limit of 30 participants.
In the workshop you will learn to read minds (kind of). Sound artist Chris Kallmyer of Machine Project will lead participants in a hands-on electronics workshop where you will build a primitive lie detector in the form of galvanic skin response meter. Then artist/intuitive duo Krystal Krunch (Asher Hartman and Haruko Tanaka) will lead participants in developing their psychic abilities.
Participants will learn some basic soldering/electronic skills to build the lie detector and then, participants will work with Asher and Haruko to learn how to find and use their inner physic abilities.
The Hilliard University Art Museum is located at 710 E. St. Mary Blvd. To register for the workshop, please call 337-482-0817.
The SMART Festival is supported in part, by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the Acadiana Center for the Arts.
