PRESS RELEASE - St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz announces an in-house promotion that will help to expand the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Training Department.
Lieutenant Leon Boudreaux will be joining the Training Department already consisting of Major Eddie Thibodeaux who has 28 years of experience in law enforcement. Thibodeaux is head of our I.T., S.W.A.T., deputy property/equipment, Reserve Commander and holds 9 P.O.S.T Instructor certifications. Also in the training department is Lieutenant Blaine Guillory who has 31 years of law enforcement and holds 4 P.O.S.T. Instructor certifications. Guillory is in charge of the St. Landry Sheriff's Firearms Instruction serving not only St. Landry Parish but other surrounding agencies. Thibodeaux and Guillory also extend their experience in firearms to instruct new cadets at the St. Martin Police Training Academy.
Sheriff Guidroz stated, "Lieutenant Leon Boudreaux will be a great addition to our already well established training department. He has been with our department for 6 years serving as a shift supervisor. Lt. Boudreaux has an Associate's Degree in Homeland Security, Associates in Medical Health Science, Associates in Criminal Justice and an Associate in Military Science. He has 12 years of active military service in the U.S. Army with 5 combat tours. He also served as a training non-commissioned officer for a military battalion and he was a U.S. Army Master Combative Instructor. He is bilingual in both English and Spanish. He will contribute to the training staff with his experience as strategic self defense/ground tactics instructor, pressure point control techniques instructor, and baton/restraint instructor. He has over 15 years of experience in personnel training and instructing groups of 5-300 participants. "
"He has also been a huge asset to our office by assisting in creating numerous policies and standards for patrol and S.W.A.T. He currently serves as our S.W.A.T. Field commander," stated Guidroz.
