Slidell man booked on 100 counts of child porn

SLIDELL, La. (AP) - A 44-year-old Slidell man has been arrested on 100 counts of pornography involving juveniles.
Attorney General Buddy Caldwell says Renan Vappie was arrested Monday and booked into the St. Tammany Parish Jail. Vappie is accused of violating a state law forbidding a person to produce, distribute, possess or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles.
Caldwell, in a news release, said Vappie was arrested as part of a joint investigation involving the Attorney General's High Technology Crime and Fugitive Apprehension Units, Homeland Security Investigations, FBI, Slidell Police Department and St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office.
It could not be immediately determined whether Vappie had an attorney.
