LAFAYETTE - South Louisiana Community College is making it easy for first-time students and returning students in New Iberia, St. Martinville, and Franklin to get a jumpstart in enrolling for Fall semester classes.
The college is hosting an Express Registration event at its Teche Area campus in New Iberia on Saturday. The event is a one-stop-shop for students, who will be able to apply for admissions, be advised on which classes to schedule, apply for financial aid, and meet with college faculty and staff.
The Saturday Express Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. This event is for students at Teche, Evangeline and Franklin campuses. Other Express Registrations are planned for July 13 at the Acadian campus in Crowley; and July 20 at the Gulf Area campus in Abbeville.
Free hot dogs and drinks will be available at each registration event and students enrolling will be able to enter for a chance to win prizes.
Student Services also is extending its weekday hours this summer. Each campus is open from 5 - 7 p.m., Mondays through Thursdays, for those students who cannot visit during regular business hours. Campuses will also be open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Staff will be on campuses in Lafayette, Abbeville, Crowley, New Iberia, Opelousas, St. Martinville, and Ville Platte.
Fall semester classes are being offered in a variety of ways including traditional classroom settings, video conferencing, and online. Students can find courses and register for the Fall semester by selecting the "Class Schedule Search" tab within their LoLA accounts or at www.solacc.edu.
