SLCC applications accepted until Aug. 20

LAFAYETTE ­­- Applications for admission to South Louisiana Community College are still being accepted. Classes for the Fall 2012 semester begin Aug. 20.

Applications for academic degree programs as well as technical programs can be found online at www.southlouisiana.edu.

In addition to normal business hours, students can visit the Devalcourt Street campus in Lafayette during extended hours. From July 23 to Aug. 24, student services will be open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday at that campus. Offices will also be open on Saturday, Aug. 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Degree offerings include care and development of young children, criminal justice, business technology, general studies, industrial technology, midwifery , teaching and emergency medical technology - paramedic.

Technical programs include air conditioning and refrigeration, automotive technology, aviation maintenance technology, business office administration, business office technology, care and development of young children, carpentry, civil, surveying and mapping, clinical laboratory assistant, clinical laboratory technician, collision repair technology, commercial vehicle operations, computer electronics technology, cosmetology, culinary arts and occupations, diesel-powered equipment technology, drafting and design technology, electrician, graphics, heavy equipment operator, industrial electronics technology, industrial/agriculture mechanics technology, information communication technology: computer network specialist and computer/networking support, machine tool technology, medical assistant, medication attendant certified, nondestructive testing technology, nurse assistant, patient care technician, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy, practical nursing, surgical technology, welding and work keys skills upgrade.
