At approximately 09:42 a.m. Friday morning the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call from an AT&T worker that discovered skeletal remains, fully clothed, on Hwy 100 near Mile Post 12.
According to Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon, as the investigation is in the preliminary stages, the remains are believed to be that of a male subject and foul play is not suspected. A preliminary identification was made but due to the condition of the body Dr. Mary Manheim with L.S.U. was contacted to assist with the investigation.
The victim’s body will be transported to the L.S.U. F.AC.E.S. Lab in Baton Rouge later today.
