Shreveport man arrested in Virginia runaway case

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish sheriff's deputies have
arrested a Shreveport man for numerous sex crimes involving a Virginia runaway.
Sheriff Steve Prator says 25-year-old Kevin Lunsford was arrested Wednesday at his home where he was found with the 14-year-old girl after deputies received a tip about the teenager's location.
Detectives say the girl and Lunsford became acquainted through the social network site, MySpace. Investigators say the pair communicated through the Internet and by text and at some point Lunsford traveled to Virginia to pick her up at her home in Wythe County. The pair returned to Shreveport by bus, arriving at Lunsford's apartment around 2 a.m. Tuesday.
Lunsford was booked on charges of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile, sexual battery, oral sexual battery, computer-aided solicitation of a minor for sexual purposes, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of marijuana. The girl was taken to an area youth shelter to await transport back to Virginia.
