SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A Shreveport store clerk was shot during an armed robbery.
Authorities say a man armed with a handgun entered the Family Dollar in west Shreveport Sunday evening and confronted the clerk. During the confrontation, police say the suspect fired the weapon and struck the clerk in the upper body before grabbing cash from the register and running from the building.
KSLA TV reports the clerk, 27-year-old Bobby Carr of Shreveport, was taken to LSU Hospital with serious injuries, but he is expected to survive.
There were customers in the store at the time of the shooting, but no one else was injured.
Police say the lone male gunman was wearing all dark clothing and a bandana covering his face.
