Showers & Storms Possible into the Weekend

The chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms continues into this weekend. A very moist and an unstable atmosphere will aid in development along side a shortwave. Not expecting widespread severe conditions, yet the high moisture values and tropical airmass in place could allow strong storms to develop. Down-burst and short periods of heavy rainfall are possible. About a 50/50 shot coverage wise across Acadiana, with highest chance during the afternoon. Any activity should decrease and come to a end not too long after sunset each day.
Keep the rain coat and umbrella handy this weekend, espcially if you have outdoor plans. Typical summer heat and humidty, daytime highs in the low 90s and overnights in the mid 70s.
