I think it's safe to say that summer is more or less here in southern Louisiana. That soupy thick air is in place with plenty of moisture still coming into Acadiana. Humidity levels will be high again on Tuesday with temperatures crawling up close to 90s degrees in the afternoon.
As a quick reminder before we get into the brutal heat of the summer make sure to take care of yourself. Drink plenty of water and don't over do it out in the heat, try and do any kind of outdoor activities in the morning or the evening avoiding the afternoon heat.
High pressure starts to get eroded on Tuesday with some isolated showers late in the evening, with showers and storms continuing on Wednesday. A few storms could be rather strong but the severe threat now is minimal, with much stronger storms expected in northern parts of the state, particularly Shreveport.
