Shots fired on campus of LSUE Overnight

Officers responded to the LSUE Campus after receiving calls of shots being fired at 1:39 am this morning.

Police say multiple shots were fired on the campus twice. The shots were approximately 30 minutes apart and bullet casings have been recovered, according to police.

Police say witnesses gave a description of vehicles that were involved, and three vehicles in the area were pulled over. A passenger jumped from one vehicle and fled through a residential neighborhood, according to police.

Officers were unable to locate the person and no weapons were recovered from either of the vehicles pulled over.

The matter is still under investigation and more details will be released when available.
