Shooting The Cause of I-10 Shutdown in Baton Rouge

Baton Rouge Police are investigating a shooting that occurred east bound I-10 at the base of the Mississippi River Bridge near the Nicholson Exit. There was an apparent incident that occurred earlier today which led to this shooting.
The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition.
The interstate at the north bound I-110 and east bound I-10 split is shut down at this time. Traffic traveling east bound on I-10 is being diverted to the Nicholson exit in Baton Rouge and on LA - 1 in Port Allen to the Old Mississippi River Bridge.
