Shooting suspect still wanted; man dies from injuries

A Baton Rouge man who was shot over the weekend died from his injuries, and Lafayette police need help finding the shooting suspect. Saturday morning, police found John J. Dean, 20, shot in the chest lying in a yard in the 600 block of Goldman Street. He has since died from his injuries.
An attempted second degree murder charge against Carl J. Phillips, 32, has been upgraded to second degree murder. Anyone who knows Phillips' whereabouts is asked to call 232-TIPS.
