Sheriff's employee booked with shoplifting

GRETNA, La. (AP) - A Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office 911
operator has been arrested for shoplifting after she was caught on
a security camera stealing several shirts from a department store.
Col. John Fortunato, a sheriff's spokesman, said Thursday that
23-year-old Jay'da Jackson of Harvey was booked Wednesday with one
count of theft and one count of possession of stolen property, both
misdemeanors.
Fortunato says Jackson turned over the alleged stolen property
when authorities confronted her at work.
Jackson has been employed by the Sheriff's Office since 2007.
