BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - The Companion Animal Alliance, a nonprofit that took control of East Baton Rouge Parish's animal shelter last year has lost its third executive director.

Board chairwoman Christel Slaughter says that Kimberly Sherlaw resigned Tuesday after only seven months on the job.

Slaughter said Sherlaw had implemented several improvements but was not meeting all of the board's expectations.

Sherlaw could not be reached for comment.
