Shawn Kline moved to Louisiana from WVVA-TV in Bluefield, WV where he covered the Upper Big Branch coal mine explosion in April 2010.
He's interviewed U.S. Senators, Congressmen, Governors, and other lawmakers. Following the Upper Big Branch mine explosion, Shawn also covered President Obama's arrival in Beckley for a memorial to honor the 29 miners who lost their lives.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Shawn graduated from State University of New York at Buffalo State College with degrees in European History and Broadcast-Journalism.
A huge history buff, when Shawn's not writing the stories of today, he's reviewing the stories of yesterday. He loves watching the history channel and writes about Ancient Roman, Greek, and Persian cultures as well as modern German history.
Before getting into the broadcast industry, Shawn moved around the country, eventually settling down for a summer in Los Angeles where he worked at Universal Studios.
Shawn's always been a huge Los Angeles Lakers fan but has yet to see a game in person, something he says is on his immediate list of things to do. He's also an ice-hockey fan and loves going to Buffalo Sabres games in his snowy hometown of Buffalo. He also roots for the Buffalo Bills and Toronto Blue Jays.
If you ever want to talk sports or history with Shawn, or if you have a story you'd like covered, give Shawn an e-mail or shoot him a tweet on Twitter:
