Shaqueta McDade, the Rayne woman whose four children died in a mobile home fire while she was out at a nightclub, withdrew her guilty plea Wednesday on four counts of negligent homicide.
McDade pleaded no contest to four counts of negligent homicide in December and was scheduled for sentencing Wednesday.
According to the Acadia Parish Clerk of Court's office, McDade will go to trial before a judge on Aug. 4. She waived a jury and will face a judge instead.
McDade was arrested in April 2012 after a fire at her mobile home. Four of her children, all of whom were under the age of eight, died in the blaze. Her oldest child was not home at the time of the fire.
