On July 5, just after 10 p.m. Carencro Police were dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of St. Pierre Boulevard. As the officers pulled up, they observed a white male fleeing the residence from a rear window. He was detained, and did not escape.
The officers were informed by other people at the residence that the man that tried to escape was making crystal methamphetamine in the residence.
The Fire Department Haz-Mat team and officers conducted an inspection of the residence, and discovered a "shake and bake" meth lab cook. They also discovered a batch of meth already cooked along with raw materials. The fire department has deemed the scene safe and a certified cleaning crew responded to properly dispose of the materials.
Robbie Maddux, 34 years old of Carencro, was arrested and is being charged with possession of schedule II (Methamphetamine), Operation of a clandestine Laboratory, and criminal trespassing.
