Sex offender accused of unlawfully using social media

A New Iberia sex offender is behind bars for allegedly unlawfully using a social networking website

The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office Cyber Crime Unit issued a warrant for the arrest of Tommy Gaspard, 40, of New Iberia who is a convicted and registered sex offender according to authorities. The warrant for Gaspard's arrest was for unlawful use of a social networking Website. According to Louisiana Law, it is illegal for a convicted sex offender to use a social media website.

Gaspard was arrested without incident and booked into the Iberia Parish Jail on November 13, 2012. Gaspard's bond was set at $25,000.00.
