Sex offender accused of failing to register after moving

A convicted sex offender in Cecilia is accused of not reporting his change of address. Steven Johnson, 47, is charged with Duty to Report Change of Address/Register.
In September 2000, Johnson was convicted of carnal knowledge of a juvenile. On May 31, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshal Services Violent Offender Task Force arrested Johnson in Lafayette, according to St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office spokesperson Ginny Higgins. Johnson was arrested without incident and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and was transferred to the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on Friday, June 1.
