Seventh vacant Lafayette home intentionally set ablaze in less than a week

Lafayette Fire Department was called out to another arson early Tuesday, this time in the 100 block of Armentor Street.

After arriving to the 4:28 a.m. call, firefighters discovered a small fire on the outside of a vacant dwelling. Firefighters said they quickly extinguished the blaze at the home, which was being used as a storage building.

This arson marks the seventh intentionally set blaze during the last week in vacant Lafayette buildings.

Firefighters determined that the exterior origination of the fire had been intentionally started. Fire investigators are asking anyone with information to contact CrimeStoppers at 232-TIPS.
