Sen. Troy Hebert will not seek re-election in 2011

"It's time for me to leave the Legislature, and I'm going to
leave on my own accord and my own two feet and on my own terms.
That's more than some people can say."
--Sen. Troy Hebert, I-Jeanerette, announcing that he won't seek
re-election in 2011. Hebert is known for his folksy and sometimes
fiery speeches, laden with Cajun humor. He has been a state
lawmaker since 1996.
