With the jobless rate expected to increase this month for the first time since April and locals losing jobs after the oil spill and moratorium, job hunting is crucial.

People are doing what it takes to get that job.

Recruiters looked for security officers along the Louisiana gulf coast at Tuesday's job fair in Broussard.

"It's very hard, the economy is not good at all and I've been putting in applications," says James Williams of Lafayette.

The Louisiana Workforce Commission says more people need work as jobs become increasingly scarce.

"It's been an increase because of layoffs. We've had an increase at the job center," says Beverly Joseph or LA Works.

Companies are looking for employees to work throughout the Gulf in various positions,

"We really would love to stay in Lafayette but we might not have no choice, wherever the job is is where we'll have to go," says James.

Some say they have been putting in their applications across the state and in other areas because they're more willing to move now just to get that job.
