A Eunice man is behind bars and charged with identity theft in connection with a cloned debit card scheme allegedly run out of a local restaurant.
Damian Collins is accused of cloning a debit card and using the cloned card to purchase more than $400 worth of items. Police say they were able to identify Collins as a suspect after he allegedly signed his own name for purchases made with the cloned card.
Eunice police believe Collins and another suspect, Rasheeda Taylor, cloned the cards of customers who ate at the local Wendy's--a restaurant at which both suspects were employed.
Both Collins and Taylor are charged with violating the Anti-Skimming act and with access device fraud. Both remain behind bars on $15,000 bond and $19,000 bond, respectively.
