Search continues for missing man on Lake Maurepas

SPRINGFIELD, La. (AP) - A Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries spokesman says authorities are searching Lake Maurepas for a Denham Springs man who disappeared while trying to help a drowning friend and never resurfaced.
Adam Einck tells The Advocate that Hubert Aucoin IV was on a boat with two other people about 4 p.m. Saturday when the trio stopped near the Tickfaw River to swim.
Einck says one man began struggling in the water, which was rougher than usual Saturday, and Aucoin jumped in with a lifejacket to help.
He says Aucoin gave the man the life jacket, but then began struggling himself.
The third man jumped in to save Aucoin but couldn't reach him in time.
