SCOTT, La. (AP) - Scott police saw an increase in dispatched calls last year of 2 percent over the previous year.
The Advertiser reports the crime figures were released on Wednesday.
The police department responded to 15,254 calls in 2012. Of these dispatched calls, there was an increase of 28 percent in the 326 adult arrests and a 15 percent increase of the 98 juvenile arrests from the year past.
The police department increased traffic enforcement and still had an 11 percent increase in crashes with 523 crashes for the year. Of these crashes, 116 were rear-end crashes, mostly from drivers being inattentive or distracted from mobile devices.
Police reports an increase in domestic violence and thefts, while drug arrests were down by 75 percent.
