Lafayette Parish sheriff's deputies say an armed robbery suspect is behind bars thanks to the help of Facebook.
The incident took place around 1:00 Wednesday afternoon in the 200 block of Haven Loop near Scott.
Investigators say 17-year-old Joseph Broussard, Jr., and a second person known as "Mookie" went to the victim's home to get tattoos. Broussard and "Mookie" allegedly pulled handguns on the victim and stole the victim's tattoo machine and other items.
Deputies say the victim recognized Broussard and showed them his Facebook profile. Broussard was arrested a short time later.
Detectives say a search of Broussard's phone turned up text messages that showing his intent to rob the victim. According to the arrest affadavit, those messages read, "He got a 22 we goin rob him," (sic) and, "Rite now he showed Mook." (sic)
"Mookie" is still at large. If you know his identity or whereabouts, call Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
The case remains under investigation.
