Schriever Man Faces Life in Prison for Child Rape

HOUMA, La. (AP) - A Schriever man faces life in prison after a Terrebonne Parish jury convicted him of sexually abusing a child.
Thirty-nine-year-old Kim Crochet was found guilty Tuesday of aggravated rape following a two-day trial in state district court in Houma. He was accused of repeatedly having sex with a girl when she was between the ages of 6 and 11. Louisiana law carries a mandatory life prison sentence for aggravated rape. Crochets formal sentencing was scheduled for Oct. 29.
