School board to appoint interim member to replace Miller

The St. Landry Parish School Board will vote tomorrow to appoint an interim member who fill the seat vacated by John Miller .

Miller pleaded guilty in federal court last week to one count of conspiracy to commit bribery. Prosecutors say Miller offered to sell his vote to Joseph Cassimere in exchange for $5,000. Cassimere later notified federal investigators.

Superintendent Edward Brown says multiple people have applied for the post, though he does not know the exact number.

The board will meet at 4:00 P. M. in the St. Landry Parish School Board Resource Center.
