Very muggy across Acadiana to start your work week. Temperatures are in the 70s and low 80s prior to sunrise. The air mass is fairly unstable and some daytime heating should get scattered showers and storms developing later in the day. We'll keep the rain chances at about 40%. The showers and storms will move fairly slow, so there will be the potential for some heavy downpours in isolated areas.
High pressure will then start to build in for the rest of the week. This should help to lower the chances for rain into the 20% range through Thursday. Temperatures are expected to remain near normal with highs in the low 90s. Heat index values will be between 95-100.
The tropics remain fairly quiet. Very quiet for this time of year. There is a tropical wave about half way across the Atlantic that has a slight chance for development over the next few days.
