Showers will be hit or miss for the remainder of the weekend with a chance for scattered showers remaining in the forecast from now until basically September.
The nature of the showers can make the forecast for high temperatures a little tougher to nail down, but I don't think anyone will disagree that it will be hot.
We're still waiting for that first 95 degree day and with widely scattered showers expected back in the forecast Sunday afternoon we may not see it this weekend.
Even though the thermometer won't say 95 that heat index will easily leave that number behind on its way to triple digits.
The ridge of high pressure that has been off to our west keeping the stronger showers and storms out of the area, will start to slide west this week.
That will open up the door for scattered showers each and every day this upcoming work week, so when you leave the house do so knowing you could see rain later that day.
As far as the tropics are concerned all is quiet for the time being with not even a weak area of disturbance through the Atlantic Basin.
