METAIRIE, La. (AP) - Darren Sharper is getting his wish.
The Saints' safety and active NFL interception king was hoping
to play Minnesota in the playoffs this season and will get his shot
at the Vikings in Sunday's NFC title game.
Sharper spent the previous four seasons with Minnesota, but was
let go in free agency after last season. Sharper then joined New
Orleans and had one of his best seasons with nine interceptions.
When Sharper lines up against Brett Favre, he'll be facing a
former teammate and rival. The pair were together in Green Bay for
eight years, going to a Super Bowl in the 1997 season. They then
faced each other twice a year for the first three years Sharper
played for the Vikings, when Favre was still with the Packers.
