Saints pick LB Khairi Fortt in the fourth round

NEW YORK - New Orleans Saints start the third and final day of the 2014 NFL draft by bolstering the defense. With the 126th pick in the 4th round, the Saints selected linebacker Khairi Fortt from the University of California at Berkeley.

Fortt was one of 12 finalists for Butkus Award last season. He began his collegiate career at Penn State University with Joe Paterno and transferred to Cal in 2012.

Transferring from Penn State after the Jerry Sandusky scandal, Fortt played just one season at Cal after having to sit out in 2012 because of transfer rules. He played 9 games last season because of injury.
