BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Republican Mitt Romney scored an easy win in Louisiana for his bid to oust President Barack Obama from the White House. The victory gives Romney eight electoral votes in Tuesday's election. Romney's success in Louisiana had been so expected that neither candidate did much campaigning in the state, which has repeatedly drifted to the right in national elections. Republican and Democratic activists were instead urged to travel to swing states to help out their candidates' campaigns. Gov. Bobby Jindal, passed over as a potential Romney running mate, traveled repeatedly to hotly-contested states to campaign for the GOP presidential candidate. Louisiana overwhelmingly chose Republican John McCain four years ago in his losing campaign to Obama and also went in 2000 and 2004 for George W. Bush.
