BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) The Louisiana Land Trust has sold off 129 storm-damaged properties in southeastern Louisiana that were sold to the state through its Road Home program.
An auction Saturday attracted 248 bidders and raised nearly $2 million in funds that will be converted to block grant money. The properties in St. Tammany, Livingston and Tangipahoa parishes were sold to the state by homeowners who didn't want to rebuild or repair them after Hurricane Katrina.
The Louisiana Land Trust says it has secured and maintained more than 10,000 properties since the storm.
