LAFAYETTE -Road closures due to drainage installation in the vicinity of Lafayette General Medical Center may result in alternative access to the hospital's Emergency Room (ER) facility.
The hospital's ER corridor is accessed off of Hospital Drive. Drivers on South College Road will not have access to Hospital Drive except from Coolidge Street from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily staring Monday, June 2,through Friday, June 6.
Traffic leaving Girard Park on Girard Park Drive will be detoured onto Hospital Drive to reach South College Road. Access to Hospital Drive from Coolidge Street in either direction is unaffected, although traffic volume could be higher than normal during working hours.
The closure of Girard Park DriveJune 2-6 between Pasa Place Drive and Hospital Drive could alter some traffic routes to Lafayette General Medical Center's Emergency Room during workday hours.
Director of Public Works Tom Carroll explains that detour routes will be marked for the duration of the closure and that the road closure is necessitated by work being performed on the drainage infrastructure.
See the attached map for access routes for LGMC's Emergency Room.
