The Arnaudville Board of Aldermen has selected an interim police chief to serve until an election can be held to fulfill retiring chief Richard Mizzi's unexpired term.
The board voted unanimously to name Kenneth Toby Wetzel to the interim chief position.
Town attorney Richard Haik Jr. says the town will announce when that special election will occur. According to the Secretary of State's office, the next potential scheduled election date is in April.
That specially elected chief will serve until the next general election in November, 2014.
