Lafayette City-Parish President Joey Durel had proclaimed Sept. 7 as Danielle Wright day in Lafayette, and made a presentation to the Wright family and friends at Tuesday's LCG Council meeting.
Family members say they are continuing to look for and try to bring home the Nina, the 70-foot sailbooat that went missing on June 4 off the Australian coast.
The family acknowledged that airplanes are still in the air because of generous efforts of Acadiana's citizens. In addition to saying thanks, they said the search area as been narrowed to a patch of ocean the size of Texas and asked for prayers from the community to keep the seven crew members safe.
