Country music legends, Riders in the Sky, will perform at the Manship Theatre at the Shaw Center for the Arts, located at 100 Lafayette St., Baton Rouge, La., on Thursday, April 4, 2013. The show starts at 7:30 pm.
Two-time Grammy award winners and Grand Ol' Opry inductees, Riders in the Sky, have become country icons throughout their 30-year career. Ranger Doug, Joey, Woody Paul and Too Slim have become known as "America's Favorite Cowboys" by creating a genre of their own that combines western music with their wacky sense of humor. Riders in the Sky have been inducted into the Western Music Association's Hall of Fame, the Country Music Foundation's Walkway of Stars and the Walk of Western Stars. In addition to their Grammy wins, Riders in the Sky have been Western Music Association's "Entertainers of the Year" six times, won "Traditional Group of the Year" and "Traditional Album of the Year," and named "Western Music Group of the Year" by the Academy of Western Artists.
America's favorite cowboys continue their exceptional career by encouraging audiences to live "The Cowboy Way!" and "bringing good beef to hungry people" all over the country.
"One of the most historically significant acts in the history of American music" - Jim Bessman
