DELHI, La. (AP) - Authorities are searching for 64-year-old Travis Cox, a trustee who escaped in Delhi.
Richland Parish Sheriff Lee Harrell tells The News-Star Cox was working for the Delhi Public Works department performing maintenance in their shop Thursday when he apparently took a vehicle belonging to the town.
Harrell says Cox was discovered missing around midafternoon when it was time for the trustees to return to the jail.
About the same time, Delhi officials discovered the missing vehicle.
Harrell says Cox was a Department of Corrections prisoner who had been sent to Richland Parish from Bossier City. He had been charged with forgery, thefts, and money laundering.
