The Richard Guidry Cajun and Creole Language Fund, a Fund at Community Foundation of Acadiana (CFA), is accepting grant proposals that foster or extend the growth of the French language in public discourse, the arts or education.
There are two grants available for up to $325.00 each to request funding for classroom projects, research, cultural activities and media projects that use spoken French in the community.
Grants will be awarded based upon the quality of the proposals and their adherence to the Fund's mission, which is to grow the use of spoken Cajun and Creole as much as possible.
Applications can be downloaded on (CFA)'s website under the Richard Guidry Cajun and Creole Language Fund or by emailing email@example.com. The deadline for applications is August 15, 2013.
Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
The Richard Guidry Cajun and Creole Language Fund was established in memory of the late Richard Guidry, author, educator and state foreign language supervisor. The mission is to support activities and projects that encourage, increase and improve the use of the multiple varieties of French languages and francophone cultures in Louisiana, especially the spoken use in public, in the arts and in education.
