JENNINGS, La. (AP) - Authorities have boosted the reward from $35,000 to $85,000 for information about whoever dumped the bodies of eight women in rural Jefferson Davis Parish since 2005.
Sheriff Ricky Edwards said Wednesday the FBI, his office, and the parish district attorney's office are offering the reward.
He said investigators have not ruled out any possible suspects and aren't focusing on anyone. They think the women may all have been killed by one person.
Edwards read a prepared statement, and took no questions at a news conference.
The women were Loretta Chaisson Lewis, Ernestine Daniels Patterson, Kristen Gary Lopez, Whitnei Dubois, Laconia "Muggy" Brown, Crystal Shay Benoit Zeno, Brittney Gary, and Necole Guillory, who was killed in August.
