Most people spend Labor Day resting or spending time with loved ones, but some still go their jobs-- and they do it for us.
Police officers and firefighters have to keep working so the rest of the community can enjoy the day off.
Olive Garden restaurants across the country recognize their hard work each year by delivering lunch to them on the unofficial last day of summer. They want to honor those who sacfrifice their down time, personal freedom, and even their lives every day.
In addition, doctors and nurses are also saving lives and working on this holiday. Hospitals workers are much busier on holidays with more patients coming because doctors' offices are closed.
Those who choose these professions, though, are not resentful-- they have a passion for their jobs. For them, the holiday work is worth it.
Lt. Cornell Montgomery describes his experiences: "You enjoy seeing the look on their face, the relief that you're there."
