Resident finds suspect in her home

A sleeping Lafayette woman thwarted a potential robbery when she heard a noise and, upon seeing a man standing in her living room, ordered him out of her house.

At approximately 2:30 this morning, Lafayette Police responded to the 100 block of Castle Row regarding an unknown suspect entering a residence.

According to responding officers the victim stated she was sleeping and heard a noise in her living room. The victim went into the living room and saw a male, approximately 5'8" medium build, standing in the dark. The victim told the suspect to leave and he left.

It appears the suspect entered and exited through the sliding glass doors. The victim was unable to determine the race of the suspect. There were no items stolen and the victim did not sustain any injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect to call Lafayette Police or Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
