Republicans will have the majority in Louisiana's House of Representatives for the first time since reconstruction.

That comes after the party switch of a New Orleans Lawmaker. Democratic Representative Walker Hines says he is switching to the GOP. The move gives Republicans 51 seats, Democrats will have 50, and there are 4 Independents.
